    1. He is a friend of Alex' friend from california who drives him east toward South Carolina.
    2. he doewsnt want to settle down yet.
    3. He didn't want to leave a trail for anyone to track him.

    1. Ronald is a friend of a friend who drives him east from Cali

    2. He wants to live on his own, thats why he left in the first place

    3. The plates woulda jus been another way of tracking him down, plus if theres an abandoned car with plates then the popo's would start a search for the missing persons

    1-Ronald is a friend of Alex's that is from Cali. i think he may come into play later but Alex does not want him to.

    2- Alex does not want to be adopted because he does not want to belong to anybody but himself and nature.

    3- He took the plates off of his car so he could not be traced and so they would not know who's car it was in the first place
